URBAN RURAL INTERFACE
Our Team...
The UR Interface Board of Directors is a small but efficient team! Some of our team have lived and worked most of their lives in a rural setting. One has transitioned from a large city to a remote rural area. We are all passionate dog lovers! Our experience is based on real life knowledge and researching the experience of others that made a geographic transition. We are passionate about supporting people wanting to live a more rewarding and satisfying life style!
Mark Blumenfeld, CPA,
President and Treasurer
I grew up in a small town, and then lived in the California Bay Area after completing college. However, after I honed my business skills, I moved back to the country. Once again I enjoy rural living and all it offers. Now as a Certified Public Accountant, I can support small businesses while living among a redwood forest.
My free time is spent working on my property, camping, gardening and enjoying the scenic and wild Mendocino Coast.
Doreen Bumenfeld, Executive Director
As a child I was raised in a very remote area, lived in San Francisco for many years and then transitioned to rural Northern California in my mid life. I have a rich background in health education as well as supporting individuals through life changes. Being on the Steering Committee of a Firewise Community has taught me immeasurable skills to prepare for wild fires. I love living in a redwood forest with the lifestyle and rural living challenges along with all the rewards of a strong community.
Tracey Douglas,
Secretary
After a career in education and administration, I made the transition from urban living in Southern California to rural Willits in Northern California. I live outside of town in a dome home located in a heavily wooded area that is my dream! I am meeting people and having new experiences I could not have imagined! Extra time has allowed me the space to be creative with my new Etsy shop. I've also experienced my dirt/gravel driveway collapsing, volunteers making my lot fire safe, and making new friends in a truly small and unique community!
